LOS ANGELES, June 7 /Christian Newswire/ -- This past Tuesday on ABC's daytime talk show "The View," comedienne Kathy Griffin thrashed Secretary of State Condolezza Rice, calling her a "not pro woman woman" because she "follows everything white men say. She does whatever the white man does....  Any African-American woman who is a Republican does not understand that she's not part of their agenda. Wake up!" During the discussion, co-host Barbara Walters accused Griffin of making a bigoted statement. Walters asked, "She [Rice] shouldn't be a Republican because she's Black and not a good example for women because she's Black?"  The following is Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson's statement regarding this incident:

"Kathy Griffin's sexist and bigoted remarks are offensive and uncalled for. It seems that Black Republicans and conservative straight White males are the only two groups in this country that godless liberals relish attacking.

"When will radical liberals stop insulting the intelligence of Blacks by constantly ridiculing them in public for exercising their freedom to belong to the party of their choice and for not adhering to their left wing agenda? It's time to stop discriminating against Black Republicans like Secretary Rice and treating Blacks as if they can't think for themselves."
