THOMSON, Ill., Dec. 20, 2017 /Christian Newswire/ -- The executive producer of an award-winning Christian audio adventure series has produced an inspiring Christmas video that can be used for free in churches, small groups and homes this month.

The video, The Lost Secrets of Christmas, was produced by Bill Heid, executive producer of Heirloom Audio Productions, which produces Christ-centered audio adventure CDs that are popular among Christian families.

"Over the last hundred or so years, the birth of Christ has been relegated to a sort of Santa Claus fairy tale," Heid said. "The actual history of Christ's birth has been ignored and rewritten to give the whole Christmas season a romantic veneer. Our world has pushed aside the reality of God incarnate -- the Messiah come to the world in the form of a tiny baby. What remains is an abstracted separation of the Gospel from historical reality."

Christian families are facing a "battle of worldviews – a battle that we need to prepare our children and grandchildren to face," Heid said.

A license is not needed to show it in churches or homes.

Heirloom Audio, which was founded by Heid, produces audio adventures that bring Christian heroes from history to life. The company just released its ninth Audio Adventure, Wulf the Saxon, which stars Chris Larkin (Master and Commander, Valkyrie), Helen George (Call the Midwife), Jack Farthing (Poldark), Sian Phillips (I, Claudius), Patrick Godfrey (Les Misérables, Ever After) and Brian Blessed (Tarzan, King Lear). Set in 1065, Wulf the Saxon tells the incredible story of the birth of England.

This year Heirloom Audio won four Voice Arts Awards – the audio equivalent of the Academy Awards – for Outstanding Production (In The Reign of Terror), Audio Engineering (In The Reign of Terror), Outstanding Casting (The Cat of Bubastes) and Narration-Inspiration/Faith-Based (The Cat of Bubastes). The company this year also launched a new club, the Live The Adventure Club.

The company's CDs feature leading actors and actresses, along with original musical scores and sound effects, detailing the stories of Christian heroes from history. Each audio adventure includes two CDs and spans more than two hours. Free study guides and discussion starters for parents also are included for each adventure.
