ORCHARD PARK, N.Y., July 23, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- More than 1,200 people from 14 states and 4 nations gathered at The Tabernacle located in Orchard Park, NY, this past weekend for the Eagles' Wings Generations conference. Under the leadership of Bishop Robert Stearns, this three-day convocation brought together an unprecedented cross-section of Christian leaders from four generations. With ministry from some of the great fathers of the faith with over 60 years of ministry, to preaching from a fiery young 11-year-old sharing the simple truths of the faith, each session explored another facet of how God is uniting the generations to win the world for Christ.
Dr. Robert Stearns, Executive Director of Eagles' Wings, enthusiastically declared at the Saturday evening service, "Today marks a new chapter in the life of the Body of Christ. Something has shifted. We are moving into the fulfillment of the prayers of many generations."
Internationally recognized church leaders who were present to minister at this historic gathering included Bishop Joseph Garlington, Senior Pastor of Covenant Church of Pittsburgh; Bishop Tommy Reid, Bishop Emeritus of the Tabernacle; Pastor Darius Pridgen, Senior Pastor of True Bethel Baptist Church; and Dr. David Minor of Gospel Tabernacle who has been a mentor to some of the greatest ministries in America. These seasoned leaders were joined by cutting-edge, up-and-coming young leaders including: Pastor Dimas Salaberrios, President of Concerts of Prayer Greater New York; Joshua Finley, Lead Pastor of Elim Gospel Church; and Justin Rizzo from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. Meanwhile, special simultaneous equipping tracks were facilitated for children and youth.
The tone for the conference was set in the opening remarks by Pastor Darius Pridgen on Thursday night as he declared, "Jesus rose from the dead in just three days. Get ready for a mighty move of God, because at the end of these three days none of us will be the same!"
One highlight of the conference was a special service on Friday evening, in which three generations took turns leading worship and sharing the message, culminating with a dynamic word from Bishop Garlington on God's plan for the generations to accelerate into a new season of faith and power.
Pastor Dimas Salaberrios, sharing of his own experiences of ministry in countries hostile to Christianity, challenged the multi-generational, multi-racial assembly, "This is the hour when we must not be ashamed of the Gospel - we must be bold for Christ. Kill boring Christianity and live full-on for God!"
