DALLAS, Sept. 28 /Christian Newswire/ -- Dr. Phil isn’t the only McGraw helping the masses these days as wife Robin has just released her first book Inside My Heart: Choosing to Live with Passion and Purpose (already a New York Times best seller) and launched her first national speaking tour as a special guest of Women of Faith, America’s largest women’s conference.
A frequent guest and contributor to the Dr. Phil show, Robin McGraw will co-host the Oct. 3 “Ask Dr. Phil and Robin” episode which offers input and expertise from six fellow Women of Faith conference speakers.
“They’re loving, they’re supportive, they’re passionate,” said Robin. “They get real about everything and I mean everything.”
“These women laugh, they cry, but most importantly, they talk about living life to the fullest,” said Dr. Phil during the taping. “They create an experience of hope and faith that women need in this day and time.”
“We have so enjoyed getting to know and work with Robin and Dr. Phil this year—they’re such real, down-to-earth people. Robin has been a significant addition to our conferences,” said Women of Faith President Mary Graham. “It was a delightful surprise to be invited to join the McGraws on the show, which reminded us a lot of Women of Faith conferences . . . lots of laughter, gut-level honesty, some tears, and, most importantly, life change.”
Dallas-based Women of Faith has drawn more than 3.2 million women to some 257 arena events (15,000 average attendance) in 80 cities throughout the United States and Canada since 1996. Through powerful personal stories of overcoming life challenges, unedited honesty, compelling drama, and outrageous humor, Women of Faith offers an unstereotypical message of hope that empowers women with the kind of faith needed to overcome even their worst fears and tragedies.
In addition to featuring one of America’s top speaking teams, Women of Faith has shared its platform with special guests, including not only Robin McGraw, author of Inside My Heart: Choosing to Live with Passion and Purpose (Nelson Books, 2006), but hero-hostage Ashley Smith, Sept. 11 widow Lisa Beamer, Trading Spaces designer Laurie Hickson Smith, Taliban hostages Heather Mercer and Dayna Curry, former ABC network religion correspondent Peggy Wehmeyer, space shuttle Columbia widow Evelyn Husband, and more. Core speakers for the conference are Patsy Clairmont, Sheila Walsh, Thelma Wells, Luci Swindoll, Marilyn Meberg, and dramatist Nicole Johnson. In 2005, Women of Faith launched the Revolve Tour for teenage girls with 10 events scheduled for this fall and 55,000 reservations made to date.
Women of Faith will visit eight more cities on their 2006 tour. Robin McGraw will join the events in Sacramento, Sept. 29-30, and Portland, Oct. 13-14, as well as a March 15–17, 2007, national conference at San Antonio’s Alamodome (San Antonio reservations available).
