COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., March 25 /Christian Newswire/ -- Gays commit 10% of military-on-military sexual assaults according to Department of Defense reports. "Softening the enforcement of anti-sodomy laws DoD announced today discriminates against straights -- only homosexual sex offences gain higher standards of proof," said Dr. Paul Cameron, Chairman of the Family Research Institute, a Colorado Springs think-tank. "Sexual assaults destroy morale, and detract from the ability of our military to effectively confront our nation’s enemies. The best estimates put the military at 83% straight men; 14.7% straight women, 1.26% gay, & 0.97% lesbian. So in 2009 a gay was 8 times more apt to assault a serviceman than a serviceman to assault a servicewoman. And a lesbian 30 was times more apt to assault a servicewoman than a straight woman was a serviceman. Making military service easier for those most apt to assault doesn't demonstrate 'common decency' or 'common sense.'"

"Nathaniel Frank of the Palm Center -- who supports repeal of the sodomy law -- said today that, 'Anything that continues to allow the discharge of service members for something that research shows has no bearing on military effectiveness will not go far enough.' [AP, 3/25/10] But these statistics -- consistent over the past 3 years -- demonstrate just the opposite. Those not wearing seat belts are sanctioned because they increase collective medical costs if involved in an accident. How much more so those engaging in the ruinous practice of homosexuality? Homosexuals cost much more than they contribute, due to higher rates of STDs (syphilis, HIV) and medical services; commandeering of restrooms and parks for sex; and excessive substance abuse, criminality, job instability, and child molestation."
