New Redemption Press Book Conquers Identity Crisis Through Author's Story, Devotions, Journaling Tools

ENUMCLAW, Wash., Aug. 28, 2020 /Christian Newswire/ -- The threat of identity theft has 67 percent of Americans concerned and alert to the danger, according to a 2019 study by Atlas VPN Research.* Author Micah Ruth discovered that she was unprepared prey and unalert for an attack on her identity of a different nature—her personal identity, where she placed her value and significance—from a thief in opposition to God.

Constantly striving for achievement and accolades, Micah found herself questioning her worth during a career demotion and personal crisis. As a born achiever, she fell into believing the culture's definition of success and found herself in the midst of an identity crisis when her career and parenting achievements didn't mirror her expectations.

"It is so easy to get caught up [with] putting our energy into chasing those things, while forgetting the internal things—the 'soul stuff,' I like to call it," said clinical psychologist Colleen Reichmann in a PsychCentral article by Margarita Tartakovsky.**

Micah began a journey through the book of Ephesians to discover her significance in God and to break through the lies and shame that had been holding her captive. She developed richer faith, experienced deep soul transformation, and uncovered her purpose.

"I'd always had a secret desire to write and help others, but I had been so caught up in the world's measure of success and the Enemy's lies, I had buried that dream. By freeing me to follow Him, God brought purpose and meaning back to my life and restored my dreams," Micah says.

The book recounts Micah's personal journey to rediscover her identity in Christ and also includes devotions and journaling questions for practical application. "There is a lot said about being identified in Christ but not a lot of practical application tools available to help those who struggle with it," Micah says. "You Are Loved & Free is not only my story but also a practical application guide to help readers uncover any lies they've learned from the demanding conditions of today's performance-based culture and replace them with biblical truths."

You are Loved & Free will benefit those who are weary of chasing achievements and who want to discover their purpose and identity in Christ.
