Wilson was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease thirty years ago, she found strength and empowerment from the Bible, namely the ancient Hebrew poems in the book of Psalms. Shirley A. Wilson directs Women in Christ at Christian Faith Fellowship, the church that she helped her pastor-husband establish in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The Wilsons have two grown sons, Philip and Michael, and live in Pennsylvania.
