ATLANTA, Nov. 29, 2017 /Christian Newswire/ -- The January release of "God Cures," which details one man's journey from multiple near-death experiences and chronic illness to wholeness and fitness, provides an inspirational guide for others to start the New Year on their own journey of healing.
Beginning in his twenties, Legacy Worldwide CEO Damon S. Davis flatlined multiple times while battling chronic heart disease, and a decade later he defied an incurable auto-immune disorder. Three generations of men in the Davis family had died by age 60—until God revealed to Damon that sickness is linked to traumatic life experiences that turn genes on and off and that the human body is created to repair and heal itself. Now, a picture of health and vitality as host of the top-ranked "1onONE with Damon Davis" national TV broadcast, Damon inspires audiences to ring in the New Year incorporating whole and balanced living according to God's natural design. His new book God Cures: 21 Days to Wholeness in Spirit, Soul, and Body (Charisma House) releases January 9, 2018 and is currently accepting pre-orders at www.godcuresbook.com, as well as at other popular retailers including Barnes and Noble, Amazon and Christianbooks.com.
"For generations, the men in my family have been attacked with disease and robbed of life at an early age. The three generations before me—my father, my grandfather, and my great-grandfather—all passed before the age 60, and that was part of my impetus to begin this journey in the first place," Davis writes. In 2007, Wallace Ray Davis—Damon's father who is best-known as a TV pioneer that launched hundreds of the most recognized ministry leaders into broadcast evangelism—died from kidney failure after complications from a 15-month bout with cancer. Similar to Damon, his father suffered a near-death heart attack, and later received a heart transplant after being diagnosed with cardio-myopathy in 1997.
God Cures was written to encourage and instruct the nearly half of all U.S. adults who have a chronic condition, and approximately 8 percent of children ages 5 to 17 who were reported by their parents to have limited activities due to at least one chronic disease or disability (National Health Council). The book offers readers an in-depth profile of Damon's life and miraculous health history and explains how sickness is often an accumulation of emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual wounds that take a toll over months and years, called Epigenetics. "God struck me down in the middle of the road, blinded me to what man said was my problem, and opened my eyes to the answer: Him!" he said.
While Damon acknowledges advances in modern medicine, encourages readers to consult a multitude of counselors and to remain in their doctor's care, God Cures primarily connects the dots for a life of wholeness and balance that unites God's natural design of spirit, soul and body. "Only God can cure in the way that I describe in this book because God's strategy, found in the Word, focuses completely on bringing wholeness to our misaligned, fractured lives and fractured selves, centering on the eradication of what has caused us to become sick—the root problems in our internal man, spirit, soul, and body." said Davis. "Everything else outside of us is treatment. Everything else is temporary!"
The final pages include a 21-Day God Cures Diet—a journey to total healing with daily direction for eating, exercising, and reflecting that emphasizes the role of the mind in committing to a change in diet and lifestyle. The three-week regiment teaches readers how to get toxin-free protein without meat, calcium-rich sources without dairy, and satisfaction apart from the standard American diet. It also incorporates fasting taken from the book of Daniel in the Bible, inspiring scriptural passages and aerobic physical exercise, based on the advice Damon received from several alternative and natural wellness practitioners during his personal journey to healing and wholeness.
Damon concludes, "It is critical that you understand that regardless of all the practical steps and how long it took for me to get to the other side, it is God who cures, and He can do it in a supernatural way in your life today."
