WINONA LAKE, Ind., Mar. 19 /Christian Newswire/ -- Described by the Philadelphia Inquirer as "A masterly soloist with something to say..." violinist David Kim, of the Philadelphia Orchestra will perform at the 13th annual MasterWorks Festival on June 26, 2009, 7:30 p.m., in Winona Lake, Indiana. Admission is free.

Mr. Kim regularly appears as soloist with orchestras throughout the world and will solo with the MasterWorks Festival Orchestra, performing Sibelius' Violin Concerto.
Sponsored by the Christian Performing Artists' Fellowship (CPAF), the MasterWorks Festival is a four-week classical performing arts festival. During the four weeks, 250 students and over 90 faculty and guest artists will give over 40 world-class performances of classical works for orchestra, ballet and theatre, along with numerous faculty and student recitals and guest artist masterclasses. "The Festival was founded in 1997 by CPAF with the vision of bringing the love of Christ to the many thousands in the world of the performing arts," says Dr. Patrick Kavanaugh, founder and Executive Director.
MasterWorks mixes artistic excellence with spiritual devotion. Intense artistic training and daily campus-wide spiritual activities nurture students' growth as Christians in the arts. Students receive the highest quality instruction and performance experience from professionals throughout the United States and around the world. Previously featured guest artists have included: world-renowned pianists Ann Schein and Nelita True, critically acclaimed flutist Bonita Boyd, violinist Midori, classical concert and recording guitarist Christopher Parkening, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra cellist Anne Martindale Williams, violinist and Dean of the Juilliard School of Music Stephen Clapp, internationally recognized ballet instructor Clara Cravey Stanley, former principle of the Martha Graham Dance Company Steve Rooks and Hollywood acting coach John Kirby.
