MEDIA ADVISORY, Feb. 22, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Jerry Smith beat the odds and his doctor's diagnosis and found a cure to a fatal disease.
What do you do when your doctor gives you a "Death Sentence?" Jerry Smith was given just months to live when diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, an incurable lung disease. Jerry went out of the country, and contacted a doctor in Germany who had his own lab. The doctor analyzed his blood, created a serum, using Jerry's blood and treated him for 16 months. In 2008, He was pronounced cured.
But then jerry is used to adversity, his mom was born a deaf-mute and abondoned at birth after her mother died in childbirth. When she was grown, she was raped and gave birth to Jerry and he was abandoned. She married and found Jerry only to be forced by her husband to abandon him again. He was then in the process of being adopted into another family but within the 6 month period before the adoption became final, the adoption was cancelled.
Then Jerry went to live with an nncle and 5 months later the uncle died and Jerry grew up in foster care. His first wife was murdered and his grandson was killed at 15.
After attempting suicide, Jerry started a long process of therapy. After remarrying, Jerry found God and learned from the Bible to forgive everyone in his past, a long process but a richly rewarding one, and finally found unbelievable happiness.
After 12 years of happiness, Jerry was diagnosed with his fatal lung disease. Because of his faith, he searched worldwide for treatment and was led by God to the doctor in Germany. After the cure, God showed Jerry God's purpose for his life. Jerry then wrote his book: "Does God Give Us More Than We Can Bear?" Zig Ziglar wrote the book foreword. Several pastors of his church wrote endorsements for the book.
Jerry is now a public speaker, something he always thought would be impossible for him to do, but now he truly enjoys it. He learned that if you answer God's call, then anything is possible. That if God wants you to do it, then He will make it possible. Jerry now knows that his purpose for the rest of his life is to offer hope to as many people as he can.
