Pastor Bryan Longworth Warns: Expect Even Higher Rates of Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV, and Other STI Infections if Graphic, Explicit, Risky Condom Ed Curricula is Implemented

Contact: Pastor Bryan Longworth, 772-380-2111

MEDIA ADVISORY, Nov. 15 /Christian Newswire/ -- As published in a CDC report released this week, the US set a record for the number of Chlamydia cases last year with over 1 million new infections. Additionally, Gonorrhea is making a come back, and a strand has evolved into a "superbug." Pastor Bryan Longworth warns: expect even higher rates of Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV, and other STI infections if the Graphic, Explicit, Risky Condom Ed Curriculum "Get Real about AIDS" is Implemented in St. Lucie County, Florida!

According to the National Institute for Sexual Health, condoms fail to protect against HIV/AIDS infections 15% in the first year. That's only 1.66% better than the odds of getting shot playing Russian Roulette! But that's the best it gets with condom "protection." Condoms fail to protect 40% of the time for genital Herpes, 50% of the time for Syphilis and Chlamydia (the number one bacterial STD), nearly 100% of the time for HPV (the number one viral STD and the leading cause of cervical cancer which kills nearly 5,000 women per year). "You would have to be insane or ignorant of these facts to recommend that young people trust their lives to something with such a high failure rate," Longworth argues. "Expect more records for Chlamydia, Ghonorrhea, HIV, and other STI infections if St. Lucie County School Board members approve the graphic, explicit, risky Condom Ed curriculum "Get Real about AIDS". With failure rates like these, it's not a matter of if but when sexually active young people will get pregnant, get someone pregnant, and/or contract a STI using condoms. Only abstinence is 100% effective at preventing pregnancy and STD infection."

Pastor Bryan Longworth is the associate pastor of Covenant Tabernacle World Outreach Center in Port St. Lucie, FL, cofounder of Youth for America, and is part of a group of parents and concerned citizens that has gathered over 3,750 petitions in opposition to "Get Real about AIDS." Notes, video footage, and links from his October 12, 2006 press conference can be viewed at his church website.
