ENUMCLAW, Wash., Aug. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Is there a secret to the Lord's Prayer, hidden for 2000 years? Author Doulos Theos C (a.k.a Pastor Chun Soo Nam), of Seoul, Korea, says that there is. In his new book, "This Is How You Should Pray, The Secret of the Lord's Prayer Hidden for 2000 Years" [2007, WinePress Publishing] Pastor Chun says, "The Lord's Prayer is the single most utilized method of communication between mankind and the Lord. But as this centuries-old text survives over time, it has lost its meaning as it has become a meaningless ritual for the majority of Christianity."

Line by line, using the original Greek text, the author seeks to open up the meaning of this prayer and connect it to other passages of Scripture. He says, "I am eager to spread the good news. [The] Lord's Prayer contains the path of life for God's people."

Referring to his book as "A commentary on the Lord's Prayer," Pastor Chun states that the true meaning of this prayer has been lost in translation. He explains that he wants to open people's eyes and he doesn't hesitate to say that "very few know its true meaning or intended message." He states that this prayer reveals "a very different meaning than those traditionally understood by most Christians today." Rather than having people "babbling like pagans," the author says he wants to "lead those who have lost their path towards the Lord."

The author of ten other books published in Korea, this is Pastor Chun's first book to be published in the United States. He is the pastor of the Euijeung Church in Seoul Korea and head of the Euijeung Seminary.
