Broken Records Breaks New Ground in Nashville

Indieheaven Announces the Formation of New Christian 'Artist Label'

Contact: Brian Mayes, Broken Records, 615-771-2040

NASHVILLE, May 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Indieheaven, the leading organization for independent Christian artists, is excited to announce the formation of Broken Records. The new Nashville-based artist label will partner with active independent artists through a uniquely created "180 Deal."

"It's the opposite of the 360 deal that record labels are offering these days," says Indieheaven and Broken Records founder Keith Mohr. Unlike most deals today, Broken Records won't demand a percentage of an artist's merchandise sales, live performance and other income.

"We'll leave it up to our artists to sow back into the label to help everyone grow and go as they see value in our partnership," explains Mohr. "It is a different way of approaching the artist/label dynamic, and one we believe will be beneficial to all. We must be different than the mainstream music industry and lead the way in this new and exciting time!"

Broken Records artists will be discovered through the mechanism of Indieheaven, the leading resource for independent Christian artists from around the world. Indieheaven provides a variety of services including online distribution, marketing and promotional support, community and networking opportunities, seminars and conferences, including the successful Indie University and much more.

The label is finalizing the selection of their first five artists, and announcements are expected soon.
