COFFEYVILLE, Kan., Sept. 24, 2024 /Christian Newswire/ -- As the Curator of Dalton Village and Museum and the Coffeyville Celebrities Hall of Fame at 113 E. 8th Street, Coffeyville, Kansas, I hereby proclaim James F. Linzey as a Coffeyville celebrity due to his achievements of a lifetime, including in the motion picture and recording industries, entertainment and performing arts, and as a bestselling author.

Linzey became a Coffeyville celebrity in August 2021 just by moving to Coffeyville. So, I have hereby added him to the list of Coffeyville celebrities, along with Gary Busey, Phil Ehart, Reb Russell, Verna Hall Linzey, and others on Coffeyville's Celebrities page at Coffeyville.org.

Linzey had a role as a military chaplain in the movie Iniquity in 2012 and has three albums: Who Am I, You Were Always There, and Narrow Road. He sang background vocals with Triumphant Quartet and Sisters on the album O Blessed Jesus by Verna Linzey, which received a Gold Record Award in 2012 from the International Centre of Biography in Cambridge, England, for "Best Vocals in Southern Gospel Music."

In 1996, Linzey's recording of "A Heart of Love" was included on a compilation album titled When the World Turns to God, which was in the final running for the "Special Event Album of the Year" Award in the 1996 Dove Awards. He hosted Operation Freedom television programs, broadcast throughout Europe, America, and the Far East in 2003-2004.

The crowning achievement of Linzey's musical achievements to date was accomplished in 2020 when he wrote the United States Space Force Hymn, titled "Creator of the Universe." He began writing it in Escondido, California, but finished writing it in Coffeyville. He thereby singlehandedly made Coffeyville 'Home of the United States Space Force Hymn.' So, in closing, I would like to quote the Coffeyville Journal, which stated on February 29, 2020, "Coffeyville proudly serves as home of the United States Space Force Hymn, 'Creator of the Universe.'"

We say, 'thank you, "Jim," for helping put Coffeyville on the map,' and investing and ministering in Coffeyville.
