Catalyst Leadership Explores the Traps Pastors Face When Caring for Their Souls

CAROL STREAM, Ill., April 26 /Christian Newswire/ -- The April/May issue of Catalyst Leadership invites pastors to care for their soul, even as they care for of others. Pastors focus much of their time meeting the spiritual needs of their congregation and investing in their lives. They feel an intense responsibility to care for the souls of their congregation. But the one who cares for so many others can neglect their own soul, leading to disastrous results.

Skye Jethani, managing editor of Leadership journal, says, "Many of us entered ministry because we wanted to help others experience life with God, but what if the ministry is actually hurting us pastors from experiencing that life as well?"

This issue of Catalyst Leadership seeks to address this question from many angles, including an interview with associate professor of psychology William Struthers about the science of why men find pornography so compelling and an article by Sally Morgenthaler that asks if certain ways we do ministry feed addictive behaviors in pastors.
