Churches & Communities Realize a Way to Keep COVID-19 from Canceling Christmas

The Video Bible
Oct. 1, 2020

AUBURN, Ala., Oct. 1, 2020 /Christian Newswire/ -- We know that Christmas can't be canceled. But for many people in our nation, that is how it will feel this year.

Family gatherings will likely be smaller—or non-existent. Parents who have felt the economic impact of COVID-19 will be worried about disappointing their kids on Christmas morning. And while families will have their pick of online Christmas services, it's just not the same as piling into the car, driving to church, and hearing the story of Jesus' birth.

That is why The Video Bible is offering (at cost) to churches and communities around the nation the interactive nativity as a way to spread the message of Hope this Christmas season.

The interactive nativity is a drive-through or walking nativity that includes 17 pieces of artwork depicting the gospel story of Luke 2 and Matthew 2 as a way to encourage and engage local communities.

Visitors will walk or drive through the nativity while listening to the audio Bible on a mobile device and looking at beautiful artwork depicting the Christmas story.

Christmas is a special time of year because it is a time of good cheer where the world is more open to hearing the Good News. Art is special because it has been used for thousands of years to engage and communicate.

The Video Bible has combined both to offer churches, communities, or streets where people live the ability and opportunity to share the message of hope this Christmas season.

Dr. David Haynes, pastor of First Baptist Church in Center Point, Alabama said, "We think the nativity from The Video Bible is a creative way that could be used to reach our community and love them, especially with all the health and safety concerns right now. That is why we are planning on using it."

Other churches and communities around the country are signing up to spread the gospel joy and to remember this is a time of light and hope.

The pandemic has been a trying time for us all. But out of darkness can come light. We can make this Christmas season a truly special time where a hurt and broken world may be more willing than ever to listen to a message of hope.
