WASHINGTON, Jan. 18, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Maximus Group Media Team will be on the ground in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore for a variety of events as part of the 2012 March for Life weekend. The Maximus Group is your go-to agency for news, events and stories emerging from this national event, which attracts Catholic cardinals, bishops and the lay faithful in witness and celebration of life. Following is a look at key opportunities:
SPITZER, TOMEO AT BASILICA SATURDAY -- Bestselling authors Fr. Robert J. Spitzer and Teresa Tomeo will appear at 2 p.m. on Jan. 21 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception as part of March of Life weekend activities. This event is free and open to the public. The Basilica is located at 400 Michigan Ave., NE, Washington, D.C. 20017. Beginning at 2 p.m., Spitzer and Tomeo will make presentations and field questions from the audience. At 3 p.m., they will sign copies of their new books from Ignatius Press -- Fr. Spitzer's Ten Universal Principle and Tomeo's Extreme Makeover. Maximus Vice President of Media and Communications Alexis Walkenstein will attend the event, and will be available to coordinate interviews.
MARCH FOR LIFE CONVENTION -- The Maximus Group will have displays throughout the weekend at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Capitol Hill (400 New Jersey Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20001). There will be a variety of publications and DVD's from Ignatius Press, as well as a display and trailer for the new film October Baby, which comes to theaters on March 23. Special pre-release screenings of October Baby will take place at the Hyatt Regency at 10 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Maximus Social Media Coordinator Tim Pigulski will staff the convention displays, and will attend the October Baby screenings.
FELLOWSHIP OF CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY STUDENTS -- Jessica Whiting of The Maximus Group media team will attend the 2012 FOCUS Student Leadership Summit, Illuminate. She will be showing the trailer for the new movie October Baby, which opens in theaters on March 23.The conference is being held Jan. 20-23 at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor (300 Light Street, Baltimore, MD 21201).
STUDENTS FOR LIFE -- Shannon Royce of Provident Films will host a special pre-release screening of October Baby for Students for Life. The screening begins at 9:45 p.m. Sunday night (Jan., 22) in the White Flint Amphitheater at the North Bethesda Marriot Hotel & Conference Center (5701 Marinelli Road, North Bethesda, MD 20852).
