ENUMCLAW, Wash., Oct. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- *According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, breast cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in women, second only to non-melanoma skin cancer. Breast cancer survivor author Linda Grabeman releases her new book, "No Prissy Shoes -- Trusting God to Walk You Through Your Breast Cancer Journey" (Pleasant Word, 2010).

Following her diagnosis in 2006, Grabeman underwent two mastectomies, chemotherapy, radiation treatment, and reconstructive surgeries. Her book is a 31-day devotional for women walking through breast cancer.

"My purpose is to give women walking through breast cancer a daily dose of hope, comfort and encouragement through God's Word. I want to walk my readers through every step of the journey, sharing my experiences, but then bringing them back to the awesome, life changing truths in the Word of God, so that they can sense His presence, His peace and His power for them, even on their breast cancer path."

Divided into 31 brief chapters, "No Prissy Shoes" includes:

• 313 Bible verses

• Practical tips from an experienced cancer patient

• Topics covering diagnosis to recuperation to recovery

• Relevant Biblical truths applied specifically to breast cancer

Linda Grabeman is a graduate of the Tatnall School in Wilmington, Delaware, and Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia. A lover of cooking, Linda co-chaired and edited Blessed Isle: Recipes from Pawleys Island, a cookbook from All Saints Church.

"As I traveled my pink journey these last few years, I wanted to make sure that I was at least pretty on the inside, by His grace. So staying in the Word and near to my Lord served many purposes. It not only lessened my fears, but it also heightened my joy in Him, which, ultimately, showed on my face."
