DENVER, Oct. 19 /Christian Newswire/ -- America's Independent Party affiliates, in Colorado and across America, enthusiastically endorse 2010 ACP candidate Tom Tancredo for Governor of the Centennial State.

Our people, principled, independent, Reaganite moral conservatives, believe that Tom is exactly what we're looking for in a Governor. In fact, we believe that if we don't soon begin to elect individuals of Tom Tancredo's character and caliber, our beloved country will not survive much longer in liberty. Our situation is that serious, and that precarious.

The first step to restoring our republic is a return to first principles. Tom Tancredo clearly understands the self-evident truths the founders of this nation laid out in our great Declaration of Independence. He knows that his primary sworn duty in office is to fulfill the stated ultimate purpose of our Constitution, which is "to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity."

Like Ronald Reagan, Tom Tancredo is a fierce defender of the God-given, unalienable right to life of all innocent human beings, from the first stages of development. Currently, he is proving that by his support for the only pro-life measure on the ballot anywhere in America this year, Amendment 62, the Personhood Amendment.

We're not naïve enough to think Tom Tancredo is perfect, and we don't necessarily agree with him on every single point of public policy. His support for the E-Verify program would be one case in point. While our activists and party leaders are fierce long-time advocates for a secure border, the strict enforcement of our immigration laws, and the absolute protection of our nation's sovereignty and security, just as Tom is, most of us in AIP would classify E-Verify as Americans giving up essential liberty to obtain a false security. We hope that given time and opportunity, we can convince the new Governor that support for this program is a mistake.

We also strenuously opposed his endorsement of Mitt Romney in the 2008 presidential contest, but have been convinced by his extensive conversations with principled Colorado pro-life, pro-family, activists we trust that he has sincerely repented of that serious error.

We therefore urge all citizens of Colorado to lend their prayers, time, energy, financial resources, and VOTES to Tom Tancredo and his campaign. Do our nation, and your great state, a huge favor by doing what it takes to elect Tom Tancredo Governor of Colorado on November 2nd.

A Tom Tancredo win will help break the false notion that the Republicans and the Democrats are our only choices. Tom Tancredo's victory will truly be a great victory for the much-needed restoration of government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
