ENUMCLAW, Wash., Feb. 1 /Christian Newswire/ -- With 36-years of experience in business, an arena laced with challenges for Christian women, Connie Van Berkel, has recently released 'Choose High Road Victories' [2006, Pleasant Word], the result of years of study and analysis. Ms. Van Berkel seeks to mentor the Christian career woman who wants to maintain her femininity and Christian testimony despite intense pressures faced by all women in business.
In 'Choose High Road Victories' she states:
'Along this journey I started to grow and gain the skills to deal with the everyday nature and challenges of the business world. I realized that many Christian women were on the same journey and faced the same challenges, uncertainties and issues I had faced….I was challenged to define what it was that I had learned and gained, and how I maintained my Christian womanhood in that environment.'
Through an extensive interview process, she created an empirical study defining the challenges and offering biblical solutions for Christian women. She deals with setting goals, forming boundaries, and living the Christian work ethic. She closely defines the synergy between leadership and submission, comfort zones and risk taking, and assertiveness and aggressiveness. She exposes female self-sabotage, faith bumps in the road, and various forms of harassment, all in an interesting anecdotal style.
Ms. Van Berkel has worked for private, public, and religious entities. She served in sales, graphic art, and in marketing for architectural firms as well as secretary for two churches, each numbering 600- 700 members. She is a Bethel Bible teacher and an elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA), a woman with a vibrant personality who enjoys public speaking.
