WASHINGTON, June 30, 2012 /
Christian Newswire/ -- Pro-life and faith organizations to hold prayer vigil and news conference in front of the White House on Sunday, July 1, at 3:00 P.M. to announce the event called
Actsfive29.
The news conference will be on the Pennsylvania Ave. NW side of the White House in front of Lafayette Park.
Actsfive29 is taken from the Book of Acts 5:29, in which the apostles refused to comply with unjust government mandates and laws as they were told they could not publicly share their faith.
They told their political leaders, "We must obey God rather than man," and they went to jail rather than violate their conscience and deeply held faith and religious beliefs and values.
On September 19-22, Actsfive29 is inviting thousands from across the nation to come to the White House for 72 straight hours of peaceful arrests in which Americans will be sending a powerful message to President Obama that "we will not comply" when it comes to obeying unjust HHS mandates concerning our religious beliefs and using our tax dollars to pay for abortions.
Actsfive29 organizers state, regarding the project,
"Obamacare forces citizens to pay for abortions and abortifacient drugs regardless of their convictions. It makes the subsidizing of abortion a federally mandated responsibility for all taxpayers.
"Through HHS mandates, our religious freedoms are trampled, our religious liberties are denied and our God-given rights are ignored.
"Just as the Apostles did in Acts 5:29, we will not comply with the unjust and immoral provision of Obamacare. Like the Apostle Peter we will loudly declare, 'We must obey God rather than man.'
"We are giving a national call, for September 19-22, inviting thousands to come to the White House to stand as prophetic witness for life, justice, human rights and freedom. We want to send a clear message to President Obama that we are willing to be arrested before we comply with these unjust mandates. We will not be forced to surrender our religious liberties and freedoms and we will not abandon our God."
Some of the Actsfive29 coalition includes: Survivors, Operation Rescue, the Christian Defense Coalition and Reabhloid DC.
