WASHINGTON, May 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Reverend Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), president of the National Clergy Council and founder of Faith and Action in Washington, DC, appeared this past weekend as a guest on Hannity's America, broadcast on top-rated Fox News Network, continuing his critique of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, long-time pastor to Sen. Barack Obama.
Schenck was prominently featured during the special segment of Hannity's America broadcast Friday, May 2, and later posted to the Fox News website. Schenck was present for Wright's now infamous speech at the National Press Club and talked about his reaction to it, as well as his personal encounter with Wright that morning.
In the piece entitled "Dangerous Doctrine," Schenck said about Wright's embrace of liberation theology, "At the core of his theology is really an anti-Christian understanding of God and is part of a long history of individuals who actually advocate using violence in overthrowing those they perceive as oppressing them," concluding it's, "very, very dangerous."
Schenck recently published an essay explaining his pursuit of the Wright controversy at www.faithandaction.org. His organization has received hundreds of E-mails supporting the effort to expose Wright's radical Marxist-informed and racially divisive philosophy.
Schenck has launched a campaign to collect E-mails from concerned Americans addressed to Wright about liberation theology and plans to deliver them to Wright in early June. E-mails may be sent to info@faithandaction.org with "Rev. Wright" in the subject line.
