Former Senator/Congressman's Wife Tells of Her Brutal Rape for the First Time to Help Others Move on from Victim to Victory
Contact: Rhonda Funk, VMI Publishers, 541-549-1139; for Fear To Freedom by Rosemary Trible

SISTERS, Oregon, Feb. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Every 2 minutes someone in America is being sexually assaulted (RAIIN)* leaving hundreds of thousands of victims to live in fear. Fear of what others will think of them if they share what has happened, fear of being attacked again, and fear of wondering if the attacker will follow through with the threats they made if the police were involved.

In her new book Fear to Freedom, Rosemary Trible, the wife of former Congressman and Senator Paul Trible (R-Va.), shares for the first time a 35 year old story of a horrific night she was raped at gunpoint in an effort to help others who have been living in fear, and to encourage them to move on from victim to victory.

At that time she was a television talk show host of "Rosemary's Guestbook" on WTVR in Richmond, VA., when she chose to cover the taboo topic of rape. These stories greatly angered a man who broke into Rosemary's hotel room and brutally raped her. "Let's see how you like it Miss Talk Show Host," he whispered while holding a gun to her head. These words have been ever present in her mind.

Last year her pastor asked the congregation, "What if you did not have to be so afraid," and "What if you could help someone else not to be so afraid?" Those burning questions lit a fire in Rosemary that inspired her to write her story. Not only does she tell her story, she shares journeys from several other women in the book and on her website www.FearToFreedomJourney.com to give hope to those who have been bound by their past. Covering sexual abuse, eating disorders, panic attacks, self worth issues and more, she shows women that with God's help they can move from fear, to forgiveness to freedom.

Rosemary says, "Your ashes of yesterday do not have to define you today. My hope is that the brokenhearted find hope that God's healing power is transformational. His amazing grace has released me, and I have found the power of forgiveness and what it means to be reconciled to others."

Syndicated and USA Today Columnist/Fox News Contributor Cal Thomas says, "Every woman should read this book whether they have been violated or not. Every man should read it so that they can better understand a woman's deepest fear."
