EUGENE, Ore., Nov. 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- For the sixth year running, Holt International will present the Winter Jam Tour Spectacular -- Christian music's largest annual tour. An international adoption and child welfare organization, Holt began partnering with Winter Jam founder and host, NewSong, to raise awareness of the thousands of homeless children overseas.

During shows, the award-winning music group shares an inspirational message with concertgoers, informing them of how they can provide vulnerable children around the world with food, clothing, shelter, and attentive, loving care. In 2010, over 10,000 Winter Jam attendees committed to sponsoring a child through Holt.

"Our ongoing partnership with NewSong has already helped thousands of children in need," says Holt Senior Vice President Phil Littleton. "Winter Jam is an extraordinary way to get the message out and we feel so blessed to once again present the tour, in 2011."

Holt and NewSong's Christ-inspired collaboration extends beyond Winter Jam. The GRAMMY-nominated group has visited Holt programs in three countries, most recently traveling to India in September 2010. Here, NewSong members met children in educational sponsorship and Holt foster care -- a model program to nurture children's growth and development while they wait to join permanent families. For $30 per month, Holt sponsors help support this family-like alternative to institutional care.

"It makes a world of difference -- from an institutionalized child to a child who's been in foster care," says NewSong's Billy Goodwin. "That's the reason we encourage folks to become a part of what Holt is doing all over the world, changing children's lives in an eternal way."

Kicking off on January 7th in Chattanooga, TN, Winter Jam 2011 will run through April, stopping in cities from Texas to Pennsylvania -- with more artists and dates than ever before. Holt is currently recruiting volunteers to help reach a goal of 15,000 new child sponsors. One hundred volunteers are needed to pass out info and sign up sponsors at each concert. Every volunteer will receive free entry and a free CD.

With more than 400,000 people attending in 2010, Winter Jam continues to be one of the most successful tours in America. In 2009, the Gospel Music Association presented the Winter Jam Tour Spectacular with a prestigious Impact Award.
