RICHMOND, Va., July 11, 2023 /Christian Newswire/ -- On Friday, July 14 at 6 p.m., E.W. Jackson will host a "2nd Chronicles 7:14 Patriotic Rally to Secure America's Future." The event takes place at the Downtown Richmond Marriott Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. Speakers will include ministers and leaders from around the country.
Jackson is a national conservative evangelical leader who argues that America's crises are the result of departure from faith in God and the Judeo-Christian principles which founded America. He accuses the Democrat Party of dragging the nation into Godlessness. Says Jackson, "The Democrat Party is anti-Christian. They are for everything God is against and against everything God is for. They are also anti-American. They have slandered the American Flag as a symbol of racism and denigrated Patriotism as white supremacy."
The theme for the rally is taken from the Bible in 2 Chronicles 7:14, which says, "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Like many Christians, Jackson believes that the key to saving the country is repentance before God - especially for the sins of abortion, homosexuality and transgenderism. The Left has ridiculed evangelical patriotism as "Christian nationalism." Jackson's response is, "Loving our country as a gift from God is not about hating other people or nations. It is about being good stewards of the wonderful gift of liberty we have been given and wanting to preserve it."
Jackson has publicly said on his national radio program ("The Awakening" on American Family Radio) and his podcast ("EW Jackson for America") that there will be a big surprise announcement at the rally, but has not said what the announcement is. Insiders say he will announce his candidacy for the Republican nomination for President.
If Jackson declares, he will be the 14th Republican candidate to join the race, and will face the immediate challenge of qualifying for the Fox News debate only five weeks later in Milwaukee on August 23rd. Jackson has not publicly confirmed that he will run.
