Trowbridge, Jr., in his new book American Patriot / Spiritual Patriot; Both being Requirements; One Nation Under God, is now available, which is a sequel to his previous book Reclaiming National Sanity: Our Nation Under God ( both published by iUniverse), Trowbridge reveals why the development of spiritual guts is necessary.
The purpose of American Patriot / Spiritual Patriot is to explain why our nation has lost its credibility due to the loss of its spiritual guts which must be grown, because no one is born with this particular set of guts. At birth, our Creator endowed each of us a set of natural physical guts that eliminate the ingested poisonings from our daily dietary input and automatically, without thought, eliminates those poisonings harmful to our bodies. Spiritual guts that must be grown, which eliminate the spiritual poisonings of (dishonesty, impurity, selfishness, that which is unloving [hate, anger, resentments]) that are shot through the fabric of our existence or our daily lives by the acts of our own choices and volition which were learned and can be unlearned by practicing (honesty, purity, unselfishness, love) coupled with prayer. The growth of these type guts is strictly voluntary and cannot and will not be forced onto anyone. The trick is to do it, in your own way and in your own time, but do it.
This book is not about philosophy, psychology, or theory, but a book regarding attention and practice in which the higher will descend to the lower and enlighten. If you want to know what the higher is, read the book, then practice. Our founders had the intelligence to recognize that we are body, soul and spirit -- one part body -- two parts spirit, and that spirit is primary, and that when the government restrains the people (body), then the spirit is restrained. When this spiritual malady is overcome, we will straighten out mentally and physically, individually and collectively as a Nation. You cannot put a question mark where our Creator (God) has put a period.
The question is the following: Do you want to be a saint? Every saint has a past which only means every sinner has a future and the common thread running through all the saints (regardless of their flaws) is that they only prayed for knowledge of His will and the power to carry it out in their individual situations. Remember the word "sin" means to miss the mark, not that you are a bad person. Now we (America) need His help to hit the mark. He can and will show us the way if we simply ask. The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you.
