ATLANTA, Sept. 10 /Christian Newswire/ -- Tyscot Records signed the internationally-known CARMAN last summer to a recording contract and now comes the release of INSTRUMENT OF PRAISE in stores, Tuesday, September 11th.

Carman makes his return after a brief hiatus with his signature sing-along Christian-Contemporary Gospel tunes with his Tyscot debut single "The Overflow" [written by Ernest Jackson & Ericka Jackson]. The backing choir was arranged by label mate VASHAWN MITCHELL.

The high-spirited up-tempo track reminds Carman's fans that he is back and ready to re-capture his throne with what has made him so successful over the past couple of decades. A multi-format song could easily do well on Gospel, Christian, Pop and Urban Contemporary radio. The single is already featured on the syndicated "Walt 'Baby Love' Show."

Other tracks include:

Carman has already been featured on TBN with live performances in the past few weeks. He will host "Praise The Lord" on the day before his CD release – Monday, September 10th. He will also host another "PTL" on Tuesday, October 16th. He is a guest on TBN's Praise-A-Thon, Monday, November 5th and hosting "PTL" on January 24th and February 28th. Each show, Carman will perform songs from INSTRUMENT OF PRAISE.

Carman was born in New Jersey where he grew up in an Italian home full of music and laughter. As a boy, he played drums and guitar and began singing in his teen years. As his career developed, he played clubs and that would lead him to Las Vegas. It was after seeing an "Andrae Crouch" concert that Carman gave his life to Jesus and embraced his newfound faith in the living Savior. After five years of ministerial preparation, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he began to develop his ministry headquarters for a worldwide outreach.

Over the next two decades, he would establish himself one of the top artists on the Christian music scene with various gold and platinum albums and many Dove Awards among others.

More than 70,000 people packed the legendary Texas Stadium (home to the NFL's Dallas Cowboys) to see one of Carman's crusades – making it the largest Christian concert ever in history.
