IRS Seeks to Silence Kansas Church

Contact: Pastor Mark E. Holick, 316-303-0095, pastor@spiritonecc.org; Rev. Flip Benham, 980-722-4920, www.operationsaveamerica

WICHITA, Kansas, June 1 /Christian Newswire/ -- On April 20, 2007 the IRS sent an "inquiry" letter to Spirit One Christian Center stating that, "a reasonable belief exists that your organization has engaged in political activities..."

They cited our church marquee signs - specifically a sign we put up which read, "Sebelius accepted $300,000.00 from abortionist Tiller, price of 1000 babies."

The IRS has turned into a Gestapo, a speech police, who says if you're Christian, there are some things you can not say or preach.

The 1st amendment of the Constitution is a respected and renowned oracle celebrated all over the nations of the world. It is quite specific and clear; "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press..."

The IRS is blatantly limiting the free exorcise of our sincerely held Christian and religious beliefs in the sanctity of life. Even those who disagree with our Christian beliefs should find this bully action by the IRS deplorable.

In addition, I am pretty sure "no law" means...well...no law! Pastor Mark Holick

"The shocking arrogance of the IRS to attempt to intimidate the Church of Jesus Christ back into the closet must be confronted. For 17 years Pastor Mark Holick has been a faithful witness outside of George Tiller's abortion mill."

"His theology has always been biography in the streets of Wichita. He has never been ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ or afraid of speaking its truth at the very gates of hell, George Tiller's abortuary. May God help him this day." Rev Flip Benham, Operation Save America/Operation Rescue.
