HOUSTON, June 15, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Kingdom Racing heads into Saturday's Milwaukee IndyFest at the Milwaukee Mile on a roll after Schmidt Hamilton Motorsports and driver Simon Pagenaud brought home an exciting sixth place finish in the Firestone 550 on June 9th. The finish keeps Pagenaud third in the Road Course championship and moves him up to fifth in the overall point standings.
"Man, I actually enjoyed it, though I didn't think I would that much," said Pagenaud as he sat on the wall of his pit box with a Texas-sized grin. "But once I got the hang of it, I had a really, really good race car. It was blindingly fast. It was fun."
Saturday's 225-lap Milwaukee IndyFest (1:00pm ET on ABC) will mark Kingdom Racing's eighth race in their first full season of INDYCAR competition. "The only thing better than the race result at Texas was the ministry outreach we had outside the track. God led our team in truly amazing ways." said Team Director Charles West. "Of course the race results have been good, but the Ministry results have been awesome. We look to continue this momentum into the second half of the season, for God's glory," added Kingdom Racing founder, George del Canto.
About Davey Hamilton:
Davey's racing career almost ended on June 9, 2001 following a devastating crash at the Texas Motor Speedway. After 23 operations and two years of rehabilitation, Davey returned to Indy Car racing at the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500 in May 2007 and finished 9th. Davey's strong faith and determination to once again race in the 500 were instrumental in securing a partnership with Kingdom Racing.
About Kingdom Racing:
In 2008, Kingdom Racing made history as the first faith-vision team to compete in the Indianapolis 500.
