PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida, Nov. 29 /Christian Newswire/ -- The School Board in St. Lucie County, FL will hold a public forum Saturday, December 8, beginning at 9 AM on the proposed Sex Ed Curriculum "Get Real about AIDS" and will release the curriculum would be available for public review on its website December 3. Since school officials have offered only limited notice of the public forum, Pastor Bryan Longworth and other concerned citizens are bringing the message to the parents with "Keep Condoms Out of Schools" signs at Saint Lucie County Schools.

This week, Longworth and other citizens began holding "Keep Condoms Out of Schools" signs at Saint Lucie County Schools. They have also posted signs and banners around town to inform parents and citizens of the forum. Pastor Bryan Longworth said, "Since School Superintendent Michael Lannon and the St. Lucie County School Board have done little to alert parents of the public forum, we're going back to school to inform parents of this curriculum that will have devastating effects on 40,000 St. Lucie County public school students. If this curriculum is implemented, our STI and HIV infection rates will sky rocket!"

On Wednesday, November 28, 2007 the group went to Lincoln Park Accadamy and held signs and passed out flyers advertising the public forum as more than 200 parents dropped their children off for school. One of Longworth's former teachers came up to him at the school and encouraged him, saying, "Keep up the good work. You're doing a great job! I support you and your position."

Pastor Bryan Longworth is the associate pastor of Covenant Tabernacle World Outreach Center in Port St. Lucie, FL, cofounder of Youth for America, and is part of a group of parents and concerned citizens that has gathered over 3,500 petitions in opposition to "Get Real about AIDS."
