GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn., Sept. 25, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- "This is an event where everyone loses," states Robert Bakke, a local NASCAR driver from Golden Valley, MN. "I've met Tony Stewart in person. I mean, just the two of us alone in a room talking about racing. No cameras, nobody to impress. Tony is a great guy, and what he's been through will leave a scar that no man should have to carry." Bakke went on to say, "I haven't cared what the courts would rule or not rule about the accident involving Kevin Ward Jr. Tony Stewart is innocent, and no driver should ever leave the safety of his car to pick a fight."

Robert Bakke's perspective on aggression in NASCAR is a bit unusual. Bakke is not just a racer, but a black belt in Shotokan karate and also an ordained minister. Bakke states, "I believe competing in NASCAR is the most excitement a guy can have, and trust me, I understand aggressive personalities because I have one. But if a driver doesn't have the maturity to control themselves, then some drivers and even some entire families need to stay in the stands." Bakke went on to explain, "I've had as many as three generations of the same family come after me in the pits threatening to beat me up. It was Grandpa, dad and son, all at the same time. What am I supposed to do? Punch out grandpa? It's ridiculous, and the one thing NASCAR has to get a handle on."

Robert Bakke is the author of the current Amazon Best Seller "Prayer at Full Throttle."
