Florida Abortionist Loses Medical License after Baby Murdered at Hialeah Clinic

Contact: Tom Brejcha, Thomas More Society, 312-590-3408

TAMPA, Florida, Feb. 6 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today, February 6, the Florida Board of Medicine permanently revoked the license of Pierre Renelique, a Florida abortionist, on the charges of medical malpractice and delegation of responsibility to unlicensed personnel. Renelique was scheduled to perform an abortion on Sycloria Williams on July 20, 2006, but did not show up in time, and Williams delivered her live baby unattended. The baby, Shanice Osbourne, was then stuffed into a biohazard bag by the clinic owner and thrown in a garbage can.

"We are very pleased that the Board has taken this action," says Tom Brejcha, president and chief counsel of the Thomas More Society, a Chicago-based pro-life law center that investigated the case and hired local counsel to file suit. "Now it's time for us to pursue our civil lawsuit to get the Florida courts to declare that this was a wrongful taking of the life of a human being, which in this case was nothing less than infanticide. And we continue to urge that, after two and one-half years of delay, the Dade County prosecutor's office pursue criminal charges that are long overdue."

During today's hearing, Renelique was asked by one of the doctors on the Florida Board of Medicine to identify various types of medical equipment and whether he had them in his clinic. Renelique responded that he did, and the doctor proceeded to inform Renelique that the instruments were from her antique collection and are no longer used in modern-day medicine. It was recommended that Renelique's license be merely suspended, but the Board ordered that his license be completely revoked, which bars him from practicing medicine in Florida.

No criminal charges have been filed in the case, but the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office is investigating. For more background information, please see release posted January 30 on Christian Newswire at http://www.christiannewswire.com/news/77439331.html.
