TAMPA, Florida, Feb. 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- Luis Palau Festivals, the free, family-friendly celebrations which have drawn over 5.5 million people since 1999 from south Florida to South America, will bring the Tampa Bay Festival with Luis Palau to the grounds of Raymond James Stadium on Saturday and Sunday, March 3rd and 4th, 2007. Activities are scheduled each day from 1:00 to 10:00 PM, and admission and parking are free.
Palau festival events have changed the face of contemporary faith celebrations with a format of "great music and Good News". Recent festivals have attracted tens of thousands, including 250,000 in Houston; 850,000 in Buenos Aires, Argentina; 100,000 in Washington D.C., and 300,000 in Fort Lauderdale.
The Tampa Bay Festival will showcase some of the top artists in pop, country, and contemporary Christian music, including Wynonna Judd, Chris Tomlin, Kirk Franklin, BarlowGirl, TobyMac, P.O.D., American Idol's Mandisa and Marcos Witt.
The Livin It action sports tour will feature top pro athletes from the "extreme" sports of skateboarding, freestyle motocross and BMX biking. Video superstars Bob & Larry from the VeggieTales video series will host a massive children's play area, and top professional and amateur athletes will greet fans in the Sports Zone. An extensive public service component called Operation Compassion will focus on various community needs.
NFL Super Bowl Champion coach Tony Dungy is honorary chairman of the festival and will speak both Saturday and Sunday.
