For a number of years, she has been a mentor to younger women whose lives have been shattered by a spouse's bad decision. Ellen wrote her new book, Light Out of Darkness, A Story About Renewing Broken Relationships, after seeing the effects of infidelity on Christian and non-Christian marriages. Although presented as fiction, the story deals with the real trauma of infidelity. Baumgartner uses the light of an unusual star to show God's light and how He works in the lives of those who call out to Him in prayer and need. The miracle of the star shown to the family in her story is one that Christians have at their disposal all the time--the warmth of God's love and protection in a time of crisis.
