Pro-Life Leaders Challenge Terry's Claim that He was 'Forced' to Settle NOW Lawsuit
Randall Terry, in truth, abandoned Scheidler during the darkest hours of the litigation.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 15 /Christian Newswire/ -- Catholic Online's recent news article about Randall Terry contains an outright misrepresentation of the facts. Peter Smith asserts in his article titled Randall Terry Addresses Christendom College Students, that "Terry was forced to settle out of court and lose everything."
"This is an outright misrepresentation of the facts," said a legal expert close to the case. "Nobody is forced to settle a lawsuit. Mr. Terry compromised with NOW so he would not have to be burdened with the legal expenses and a trial during his failed 1998 run for congress."
Mr. Terry owes the Scheidlers an apology for abandoning them during their greatest need. Furthermore, Scheidler was forced to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend himself against NOW, while Terry incurred only minimal expenses. Scheidler single handedly went on to win the greatest pro-life legal victory in history.
It is unconscionable for a Pro-life leader to reach a legal settlement with NOW (National Organization for Women), as Randall did, promising never to rescue children again. It is even more reprehensible for Randall Terry to misrepresent to the younger generation that he was obligated to settle and as a result "lost everything."
Randall loves to quote: Courage is not the absence of fear but rather a willingness to do what is right in spite of that fear. But Randall has failed to do what was right over and over.
It is important to note that many former and current Pro-life leaders were on the same lawsuits as Randall, were arrested and jailed along with Randall, were attacked by the same pro-abortions forces as Randall, and faced millions of dollars in fines and judgments. In fact, many spent more time in jail then Randall and faced much harsher financial judgments and penalties. Yet none of them appeased NOW with a settlement.

Just a small portion of Randall Terry's bargain with the radical pro-abortion NOW...
