MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 23 /Christian Newswire/ -- Christian Library International announced today its new CLI Prison Ministry Bible Study for church groups.
"The purpose of the new Prison Ministry Bible study is to teach church groups or Sunday schools that prison ministry is well within their grasp. Too many people feel that prison ministry can take place only in the prisons. We aim to change that paradigm", said Anders Skaar, co-author of the new study.
Participants will discover that Prison Ministry can be done at home, at their local church, in the local community as well as at a local prison.
The new 13 week study includes several books and PowerPoint presentations, a video tape and several video inmate testimonies, inmate letters, a visit from a local prison chaplain and a field trip to a local prison. "Of course, we want the class to experience the fun of doing a church-wide Christian book drive for CLI", said Mr. Skaar (pronounced "score"). Best of all, it is free of charge and all the lessons are available on the cli website at:

Why prison ministry? Because of the fruit. "Prison Ministry" author Lennie Spitale stated: "I do not know of any more fertile ground for the gospel in all of the United States than our jails and prisons. I make that statement unequivocally and without reservation. If you are looking for a more fruitful harvest field, apart from leaving the country, you will be hard-pressed to find it."
