Contact: Dennis Fioravanti, 971-563-1497

NASHVILLE, Aug. 26, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- The band Whiteheart announces a limited engagement fall tour in October and November 2014, the first U.S. tour for the band in 18 years.

The band made the announcement on the Whiteheart FaceBook page (facebook.com/thewhiteheartband), as well as its newly-launched website, www.TheWhiteheartBand.com. According to lead vocalist Rick Florian, the announcement was received with great enthusiasm from many fans who have been waiting for the band to "hit the road" once again.

Some of the band's former members, along with a new guitarist, recently joined together to perform at Australia's largest Christian music festival, Easterfest.

"We thought we'd give one gig a try, just to see how it felt to be making music again," said Florian. "After playing in Australia, a few of us decided to hit the road this fall for some more shows. We think that the time is right to give this another go after each having pursued our own interests for the last several years."

As one Facebook fan put it in response to the upcoming tour, "Amazing, fantastic and wonderful!!! For me personally, this is the best news I've had for 2014. I sincerely mean that."

Throughout the history of the band, Whiteheart has introduced many musicians who have passed through the band and continued on to enjoy successful music careers, including Dann Huff, Gordon Kennedy and Tommy Sims. As a band, Whiteheart has produced 11 studio albums, including the critically-acclaimed Freedom, produced by award winning producer Brown Bannister. Whiteheart has also received two GRAMMY® nominations, numerous Dove Award nominations, and numerous fan awards, including Best Live Performance.

The band is set to travel to four cities this fall: Columbus (OH), Atlanta, Chicago and Dallas. The band lineup for the fall shows is still under construction, but will include guitarist Gordon Kennedy, lead singer Rick Florian and on keys Mark Gersmehl, Jon Knox on drums plus a few others yet to be confirmed. The band plans to play a mix of its No.1 hits, as well as some new music, during this fall tour.
