MEDIA ADVISORY, March 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- Ms. Ferraro's comments, along with past negative racial comments made by the Clinton campaign and their supporters, also raises the question if their campaign is using race as a wedge issue to win the Democratic nomination for President.

Coalition also wonders with so many negative and thoughtless comments made by Clinton supporters about Senator Obama's race, if they believe that African-Americans have made advancements because of their skin color rather than through personal achievement and hard work.

Group calls for Senator Clinton to dismiss Geraldine Ferraro from involvement with the campaign.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, comments,

"I was stunned to read the ignorant and thoughtless comments made by Geraldine Ferraro concerning Senator Obama's race.  First, I had to check the calendar to make sure it was 2008 and not 1958.  Next, I wondered if Geraldine Ferraro was working on the campaign of George Wallace or Bull Connor instead of Senator Clinton.

Racism should have no place in American life, especially within the campaign of a person seeking the highest office in the land.  However, it appears the Clinton campaign is using race as a wedge issue to win the nomination and divide Americans.  Once again, the Clinton camp is employing the politics of personal destruction to achieve their political goals.

These racially insensitive comments made by many Clinton supporters seem to indicate a belief that African-Americans have made significant gains based on their skin color and not through their ability and hard work.  It is clear the comments made by Ms. Ferraro were not a slip of the tongue but represent her true opinion on race in America.

Although I disagree with many of Senator Obama's policy positions, he is a Harvard Law School graduate, United States Senator, former community activist and a bright and articulate communicator.  For Ms. Ferraro to imply he has achieved these things because he is "black" shows a level of racial insensitivity and ignorance that should disqualify her from working on any political campaign.  Of course, a spot for her may open up if David Duke decides to run for office again."
