Worldwide Marriage Encounter World Council Set to Meet in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Jan. 16, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The World Council of Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) is set to begin its yearly meeting here on Saturday, Jan. 19th.  The meetings will take place over a one week period,  it was announced today by Scott & Karen Seaborn and Fr. Tom Ogg, the North American Secretariat Ecclesial Team.

"We are honored to be hosting the World Council meeting," the Seaborns and Fr. Ogg said, adding, "The sessions will be led by Tony and Cathy Witczak and Fr. Emile Frische, MHM, the International Ecclesial Team for WWME, and the theme they selected for this year's sessions is: Called to Community." 

"The annual World Council week long meeting, which will take place at the Franciscan Center in Colorado Springs, is held at the beginning of each year and takes place annually across the globe.  The Secretariats making up the council in addition to North America, are Asia, Europe, Latin America, Pacific and Pan Africa. 

Worldwide Marriage Encounter has been offering weekend experiences for over 44 years and is considered the original faith-based marriage enrichment program.  The programs are continually updated to keep abreast of changes in society, and WWME now offers evening and half-day programs that are presented at parishes and other church facilities.  The weekend program, traditionally presented as an overnight experience at a hotel or retreat center, can also be presented at the parish where the couples return to their homes in the evenings.  WWME has a presence in almost 100 countries, which makes it the largest pro-marriage movement in the world.  In North America, the WWME programs are presented in English, Spanish, French, and Korean languages.
