NASHVILLE, April 25, 2018 /Christian Newswire/ -- Kevin Sorbo (Let There Be Light, God's Not Dead) is set to star in The Penitent Thief, an adaptation of Don Willis' best-selling novel, to debut during the 2019 Easter season. James Russo (Django Unchained, Donnie Brasco), Jay Giannone (Patriots Day, American Hustle) and Stelio Savante (Blood in the Water, Where the Road Runs Out) will also have feature roles. The faith-based film is co-directed and produced by Lucas Miles (Miles Media Films) and Jon Blaze, and written and executive produced by Don and Julia Willis (4:13 Films).

The historical drama follows the journey of the two men, Dismas and Jotham, who were crucified alongside Jesus. Throughout the film, these brothers' lives will unexpectedly intersect with some of the most notable figures in the Bible.
