Pro-life leaders call on Boehner to follow the teachings of Pope Francis and Defund Planned Parenthood Now!

WASHINGTON, Sept. 25, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- In a surprise move, House Speaker John Boehner has announced that he will retire at the end of October. Citing division in the Republican caucus as we head into the final phase of debates over funding the government, Boehner was having difficulty keeping confidence in his leadership because of division on Planned Parenthood funding.

The Christian Defense Coalition has lead a series of high profile demonstrations and protests, including acts of civil disobedience, at Speaker Boehner's office calling for him not to allow any federal funding of Planned Parenthood.

This is an historic moment for our nation and for congress and we pray after the Popes inspiring words that congress would work to ensure that the most defenseless in our society are protected and not give 520 million to the largest abortion provider in the world.
