Prison Ministry Premiers Radio Program Featuring Veteran Broadcaster

Contact: Dr. David Schuringa, 800-668-2450

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., August 20 /Christian Newswire/ -- On Sunday, September 9, Crossroad Bible Institute (CBI), a ministry dedicated to helping rehabilitate people in prison through in-depth reentry education, will launch a weekly web radio broadcast featuring Rev. David Feddes. Entitled Crossroad Connection, the broadcast will feature unique 15-minute programs targeted to reach the general public with engaging meditations related to criminal and restorative justice.

Rev. David Feddes, a veteran broadcaster who formerly served for 16 years as the radio broadcast minister of The Back to God Hour, now serves as the director of CBI's Center for Advanced Studies. Rev. Feddes is enthusiastic about the goal and vision of this new project. "We at CBI are passionate about reaching people in prison with the truth of God's Word and the love of God's people. We hope this new program will encourage volunteers and supporters of prison ministry as well as engage new church members in ministering to those behind bars." Rev. Feddes will speak on topics aimed at educating, empowering and inspiring the public about restorative, criminal and social justice issues as well as Christian discipleship. Upcoming program titles include "Friend of the Poor," "Joining a Gang" and "Looking for Approval."

Crossroad Connection is sponsored by CBI's Center for Advanced Studies, the academic and research arm of Crossroad Bible Institute. The Center sponsors continuing education seminars aimed at educating CBI instructors and the general public on issues involved in prison ministry and prisoner reentry. The Center will continue offering these seminars, but now with the web radio broadcasts, the Center hopes to educate and encourage a wider audience in a convenient format.

The webcasts can be heard and downloaded at www.cbi.fm and will also be available on CD. New programs will be available weekly at this address. President of Crossroad Bible Institute, Dr. David Schuringa anticipates the success of these programs. "With millions of people incarcerated each year, CBI is passionate about training church members to care for men and women behind bars. We trust that these new web radio broadcasts will help equip the church to serve those imprisoned." Dr. Schuringa explains that CBI is seeking additional radio outlets for the Crossroad Connection program. Interested radio program directors are encouraged to contact CBI for a demo package.
