Did Jesus Fake His Resurrection with a Drug?

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., May 17, 2022 /Christian Newswire/ -- Did Jesus fake his Resurrection with a drug? This question is in response to Jesus: The Complete Story documentary on the BBC America/The Discovery Channel. Interviewee Sue Minter, Curator of the Chelsea Physics Garden stated, "There's a very important ingredient mainly in the Mandrake root called hyoscine which is one of the major pre-med's used nowadays. It has an extremely powerful effect on the central nervous system and renders people as if they are dead. It makes them completely insensible to pain."

"Matthew 27:48 and John 19:28-30 tells us that the Roman soldiers (or 'they') gave Jesus a drink of wine vinegar at Golgotha NOT liquefied Mandrake, a potentially fatal anesthetic, to put Jesus into a near coma state – to 'appear dead.' Jesus: The Complete Story depicts Jesus being given Mandrake by a Roman soldier, a spear is then thrust into Jesus' side. He is taken off the cross and put into the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. Jesus is then awakened by his followers a few days later to fake the Resurrection. If the Discovery Channel/Mandrake theory is true, wouldn't that mean that the Roman soldiers were in conspiracy with the followers of Jesus? In other words, how deep is too deep to insert the spear into Jesus' side to make it look convincing? Mandrake doesn't heal stab wounds. How much Mandrake is enough to knock out Jesus without killing him - to 'appear dead?' The Roman soldiers then would've needed to calculate a percentage of the drug given. This scenario sounds like a bad version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Is the porridge too hot, too cold or just right? It's laughably ridiculous to consider Roman Soldiers gambling for Jesus' clothes at the cross alongside fellow executioners checking Mandrake toxicity with test tubes.
