DENVER, Aug. 21 /Christian Newswire/ -- The activists will discuss their plans at a news conference on Friday, August 22, at 11:00 A.M. in front of the Pepsi Center on Chopper Circle.
The name of the event is "A Prayer for Change," and you can go to Aprayerforchange.com to find out more information and schedule.
The organizations intend to hold public rallies and vigils in Denver parks, demonstrations throughout the city including Senator Obama's and delegates hotels, prayer and leaving roses at the Pepsi Center, distributing literature and holding major pro-life witnesses at various venues throughout Denver with banners, trucks and cutting edge public events.
The purpose of "A Prayer for Change," is to pray to end the violence and injustice of abortion and to educate America on the radical and extremist abortion policies of Senator Obama.
Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition in Washington, D.C. states, "We are coming to the DNC in Denver to pray for an end to abortion and the tragic crushing of human rights and social injustice that abortion produces. Through prayer and cutting edge public events, pro-life activists intend to expose the radical pro-abortion policies of Senator Obama. We will be especially focusing on educating faith voters across America.
"To accomplish this goal, we have recently launched a new website called, Obamawantsyou.com which details Senator Obama's radical pro-abortion policies. If elected, Senator Obama would be 'The Abortion President,' with the most extremist views of any President in American history."
Kaitlin Clare, Program Director for the Christian Defense Coalition, adds, "As a 23 year old woman of faith, I am appalled at the radical and troubling abortion politics of Senator Obama. This is not a progressive view on abortion or one that affirms women. As most of this emerging generation is embracing a 'culture of life' and growing less comfortable with abortion, Senator Obama wants to take us back to a radical pro-abortion posture that is both archaic and disturbing."
Danielle Versluys, Special Events and Publications Coordinator for Survivors, comments, "We are calling on this emerging generation to be on the streets of Denver during the DNC to publicly call for an end to the war on America's children through abortion. Our generation will not remain silent while 50,000,000 of our brothers and sisters have been brutalized through abortion.
"Senator Obama is not a candidate of hope and change. Rather, he is a candidate of despair and violence that is dedicated to dragging America back to the tragic days of abortion on demand for the full nine months of pregnancy. As a 25 year old leader of this emerging generation of pro-life activists, I want to remind Senator Obama we will not go silently into the night on this issue. Rather, we will be a loud and passionate voice at the DNC crying for human rights and social justice."
