Evangelist Verna Linzey Receives 2011 'Leader of the Year' Award at Heritage Foundation after Leadership Speech
Speaker John Boehner Also Spoke on Leadership

Contact: Rev. Jim Linzey, Military Bible Association, 760-743-3913

ESCONDIDO, Calif., Nov. 11, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Evangelist Verna Linzey is the general editor of the forthcoming Women's Leadership Bible, an edition of a translation by military chaplains. She spoke at the 2011 Leadership Summit at the Heritage Foundation on October 24, 2011 in Washington, D.C., documenting the infiltration of the military chaplaincy by an al-Qaeda operative, telling national leaders how to safeguard liberties in America, and ultimately around the world.

Dr. Linzey described how after the Fort Hood attack an extremist lectured deploying troops there, whose name is deliberately unmentioned here, and that after he was relieved from working on military bases, he headed a key Islamic society responsible for certifying military and prison chaplains. She quoted Congresswoman Sue Myrick as saying that an al-Qaeda operative placed chaplains throughout our military, and how he's now in jail, but that the chaplains are still known to be in their positions.

The threat to freedom extends beyond the military and into main street America. According to Dr. Linzey's quote of Robert Spencer in the article "Stealth Jihaad," "Under the banners of 'tolerance' and 'civil rights,' stealth jihadists introduce, in piecemeal fashion, elements of Sharia into Western societies and then demand that non-Muslims make allowance for those elements. Moreover, stealth jihadists smear those who dare to discuss the negative aspects of Sharia (and Islam) as 'racists'…." She went on to document the relevance of her message to the survival of American civilization, concluding her speech by stating, "If we doubt that America is in danger, all we have to do is to look at Europe. Those who embrace political correctness do not seem either to discern evil or to resist it."

The chairman of the summit, Rev. William Owens, president of the Coalition of African American Pastors, later stated, "I would like to take this opportunity to share how pleased we were with one of our keynote speakers, Verna M. Linzey, D.D." He continued, "Dr. Linzey's academic presentation was received with tremendous applause and brought the audience of academics, politicians and executives to a standing ovation." "We presented the 2011 Leader of the Year award to Verna Linzey because she so deserved it due to her contributions academically, professionally and personally at the 2011 Leadership Summit at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C." Speaker of the House John Boehner said that America must show leadership while faced with growing threats worldwide.
