18-Year-Old Singer, Songwriter, Worship Leader Points to Hope Found in God's Faithfulness
Robert Pierre Goes 'All In' on New Album
ORLANDO, July 26, 2011 /
Christian Newswire/ -- Robert Pierre has already earned praise as "one of the best young male vocalists in the Christian music industry." But Pierre's brand new album
, I'm All In, released today by thinkaboutit records and distributed through Sony/Provident, gives fans a personal look at the newly minted songwriter's own struggles with uncertainty and fear, and the wisdom he has gained by turning to God for strength.
At 18 years old, Pierre is a veteran recording artist, touring performer and worship leader, but his co-writing credits on 10 of 11 tracks on I'm All In, his third studio album, mark a first for the rising star. With executive producer Jason Ingram (Tenth Avenue North, Sanctus Real, Bebo Norman) and producer Matt Bronleewe (Jars of Clay, Plumb, Chris Tomlin) both contributing to songwriting, Pierre has created his most personal album yet.
"All of these songs have something to do with things I have been going through in my life," Pierre said of I'm All In, "things regarding my future and not really knowing what would come next, but finding comfort and peace in the Lord's plan for my life. The Bible talks about how the eyes of the Lord are searching to and fro throughout the earth, searching for someone whose heart is wholly His, someone He can strongly support. This album is me saying, 'I'm all in.'"
The first single,
Light the Way, encapsulates these themes as Pierre sings, "When we're lost inside the darkness, afraid of what the future holds, you have promised not to leave us, you will never let us go." The worship anthem resounds, "When I can't see my next step, your love will light the way. When the path I'm on it all but gone, your love will light the way." The single can be heard in its entirety on

Pierre's ability to turn listeners into active participants is a rare gift for this artist who is mature beyond his 18 years. Some of this is likely due to Pierre's weekly residency as worship director at Harvest Bible Chapel Orlando; the church his family helped launch in their home just a few years ago, which now welcomes upwards of 1,000 worshippers every week. While juggling school, worship director duties and writing and recording I'm All In over the last year, Pierre has also found time to perform – playing on the 2010 Winter Jam tour and on main stages at a number of summer festivals including Creation East and West.
"I feel blessed that God has given me a passion for music and that He's opened doors for me to give those gifts back to Him – whether it's playing a concert or leading worship," Pierre said. He keeps his success in perspective adding, "And it's even more amazing to realize that I did nothing to get where I am, but that it's all God."
For Pierre, I'm All In is more than an album title. It has become his life motto as he learns to respond to God's calling to live fully committed to Him. "The places many people turn for hope are so destructive, whether it's drugs and alcohol or self-harm or sleeping around," Pierre said. "I want people who hear my music to know that there's a better way. While it's not always easy as God stretches and grows us, He is absolutely faithful in His love and care for us."
