Former Senator Fred Thompson to Keynote Conservative Christian Dinner on Friday November 16, 2007 in Hollywood, Florida

HOLLYWOOD, Florida, Nov. 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Florida Family Policy Council (FFPC) www.FLfamily.org will host a Gala Dinner at the Westin Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Florida beginning at 6:30pm on Friday evening, November 16, 2007. The event is being designed to introduce South Florida to the mission of the FFPC and will feature former Senator and Law and Order Actor Fred Thompson as the keynote speaker. Mr. Thompson will be accompanied by his wife Jeri Thompson.
The Honorary Host Committee for the event includes Florida Speaker of the House Marco Rubio, U.S. Congressman Adam Putnam and Mayor Tom Truex of the town of Davie. Those participating during the program also include Mayor Jim Naugle of Ft. Lauderdale; Guillermo Maldonado, pastor of El Rey Jesus, one of the fastest growing Latin American churches in the country and Sean Wolfington the financier and executive producer of the award winning movie Bella which is currently in theatres nationwide.
The evening will include policy updates on the marriage amendment in Florida, entertainment, special music, awards, inspirational presentations and some announcements and surprises. Other state elected officials scheduled to attend the event will include State Representative Ellen Bogdanoff, State Representative Carlos Lopez-Cantera, and State Representative David Rivera. Previous dinner events hosted by the FFPC have garnered statewide and national attention and included leaders such as Mike Huckabee, Sam Brownback, Jeb Bush, Mel Martinez, Bill McCollum, Daniel Webster, Ray Sansom and Ken Connor.
The Florida Family Policy Council is associated with Dr. James Dobson and Focus on the Family. The mission of the FFPC is to strengthen Florida's families through public policy education, issues research, and legal and judicial issue advocacy to shape the moral and social policies of government. The FFPC is a 501c3 non-profit organization and therefore Mr. Thompson is attending the event as a private citizen and not as a campaigning presidential candidate.
