Pro-Abortion Group to Display Huge Photos of Female Genitalia at the University of Cincinnati

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 6, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- On March 7-8, 2013, a display titled "Re-envisioning the Female Body" will show 12 billboard-sized photographs of vaginas at the University of Cincinnati (UC).  This event is in response to images of aborted fetuses brought to the campus recently (see Created Equal's recent UC outreach).  The UC Feminist and LGBTQ student groups are the main sponsors.  To kick off the display Planned Parenthood will host a "Kick-off event" panel discussion called "The Vaginas are Coming."

This statement is from the group's Facebook page (WARNING: images of female genitalia and vulgar language used):

"The group of photos represents collaboration between a UC student photographer and 12 volunteer models from within and outside of the UC community. The images will be accompanied by posters sharing quotes from the models and from others about decisions that are made by us or taken from us concerning our bodies in areas of health care, queer sex, birth and abortion, and in stories of abuse and survival.

"Not to conflate 'woman' and 'female,' this is a trans-inclusive demonstration and we recognize that not everyone who has a vagina is female and not everyone who is female has a vagina. Collectively, however, we all share this oppression over our genitalia."

Annmarie Condit of UC Students for Life, the group that brought Created Equal's Justice Ride to campus, will be passing out flyers with UC SFL informing students about Planned Parenthood's corrupt business practices -- preying off young women to fund their $1 billion industry.

Created Equal Statement:

"While we have experienced these kinds of vulgar counter protests before by radical groups like Code Pink, this is taking it to a whole new level.  Displaying lewd photos of female genitalia in order to make a political statement makes a mockery of the real debate over abortion.  Worst of all, our tax dollars are going to support this!  Planned Parenthood, which receives hundreds of millions of dollars of federal tax dollars, is one of the sponsoring organizations of this event.

"When abortion advocates resort to these types of desperate tactics, you know we have them on the run.  Kudos to the UC Students for Life for taking a pro-active stand on campus." -- Mark Harrington, Executive Director, Created Equal
