Contact: Joel James, Eagles' Wings, 716-759-6377

NEW YORK, March 12, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- William Kristol, regular commentator on the Fox News Channel and editor/founder of The Weekly Standard, will speak at the Eagles' Wings Jerusalem Banquet, Thursday evening, May 23, and at the Middle East Strategic Briefing the next morning, May 24.

"We are so pleased to welcome Mr. Kristol to share his insights at the Jerusalem Banquet this year," said Eagles' Wings Executive Director Dr. Robert Stearns. "Having served two presidential administrations, and through his work with The Weekly Standard, Mr. Kristol brings a depth and authority to the discussion as we come together, Jews and Christians across shared values."

William Kristol serves on the board of the Israel Emergency Fund, and founded The Weekly Standard in 1995 along with Fred Barnes and John Podhoretz. He regularly appears on Fox News Sunday and on the Fox News Channel. Mr. Kristol served as chief of staff to Vice President Dan Quayle during the George H.W. Bush administration and to Secretary of Education William Bennett under President Reagan. Before coming to Washington in 1985, Mr. Kristol taught politics at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.

The Eagles' Wings Jerusalem Banquet, now in its ninth year, which will take place at the historic JW Marriot Essex House at Central Park, is the premier gathering of Jewish and Christian leadership in New York City. Stearns states, "Annually, this event has brought together a diverse representation of high impact leaders from both Christian and Jewish communities in support of Jerusalem and Israel."

The event will honor Dr. A.R. Bernard, pastor of the 30,000 member Christian Cultural Center, and will also establish scholarships for non-Jewish college and graduate students to be trained in Israel, returning as educated, articulate ambassadors for Israel on campus and in life. The Middle East Strategic Briefing takes place the morning after the Jerusalem Banquet and will be held this year at the prestigious Simon Wiesenthal Center.
