One Million Children: One Life Changing Story at a Time

Contact: Marc Stein, Gospel Light Worldwide, 805-535-2424 Ext. 1273

MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Gospel Light Worldwide (GLW), the international children's ministry, announced the release of their One Million Children documentary trailer signals a new direction in the way they will tell their story. The new communications strategy will include digital storytelling: documentary filmmaking and highly flexible video programming that can be repurposed for use in a variety of media venues.

The One Million Children documentary series focuses on the significance and far reaching consequences of bringing God's Word to children around the world. The primary objective of each segment is to help people feel and understand the positive impact God's Word has on children, their families and communities.

GLW helps children enter and grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through culturally relevant, locally published Bible curriculum. They are currently managing or participating in 16 projects focused in four key regions of the world: Asia, Eastern Europe/Former Soviet Union, the Middle East and Africa. The first collection of stories will come from Asia and Africa.

"Almost every believer learned about the Lord through story," says GLW president Marc Stein. "Stories touch us in ways that facts and figures never can. We want to simply share stories that allow people to witness how God's Word impacts children, their families and communities around the world."

Outside the United States, there is a serious lack of children's Bible teaching materials and teacher training. Local pastors, evangelists and church planters from developing world churches are reaching out for help. As a result, children are rapidly emerging as one of the leading international ministry priorities.

GLW introduced the One Million Children theme in 2007 as a word picture to concentrate ministry resources and efforts. Aside from the documentary, an interactive Web site, song writing and story telling contests and other One Million Children venues will be introduced soon.

"The One Million Children documentary series furthers our continuing commitment to respond aggressively to the growing needs of children's ministry in the international Christian community," said Stein. "Almost 80 percent of all new believers worldwide are younger than 15 years, yet fewer than 20 percent of the resources donated to global missions go to children. We believe One Million Children can help change that."

GLW is the not-for-profit 501(c)3 sister ministry to Gospel Light and Regal Books based in Ventura, California. For more information, visit www.glww.org.
